Light a Way - Game Review

Someone help, I can't stop tapping!

I spotted this game in the apple app store before it was even released, and the beautiful graphic grabbed my attention instantly. As soon as it became available, I knew I had to try it out, and with an initial price tag of 'free', there was nothing stopping me from being caught in its trap. Who knows when it happened, or how, but I am now a slave to the endless compulsive tapping this app demands.

When I first began playing this game, I was disappointed. I did not realize it would be so tedious and redundant. The premise of the game is to... well, tap. In order to drive out the dark creatures that have taken over the bright and cuddles-filled world, you must flood them with light by tapping them repeatedly until they dissipate and release their captives. And you keep tapping... forever? The "enemies" do not even attack back. Ever. They just sit there until you tap them to death.

I mean... Just look at it.
You can guess why I was less than enthused. I expected to maybe make it through just a few more levels to make sure there wasn't anything more before just deleting it from my phone and never thinking about it again.
However, 12 hours later I was... you guessed it... STILL tapping. I really don't know what it is, but for some reason, I just keep picking it back up. Maybe it's the beautiful animations, maybe it's the addictive mindset of "just one more and I'll stop," maybe it's just the extremely therapeutic effect of watching the darkness meter being drained with each tap of my thumb. I may never know the answer.
