Coffee Break: January Updates & News

Tuesday, January 1, 2019

So the first thing I should probably mention is the unannounced hiatus over the past couple of months. I assure you that I had planned on making a post announcing it, but somehow became so distracted with holiday duties that I forgot all about it until it was a little late. With the start of a new year (and an end to all the holidays), things should now be back on schedule. You can expect to see at least two posts each week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) unless there's an announcement stating otherwise. Now, on to other things of note...

Some of the review formats will be seeing a change this year. I have decided to add more information to book and movie reviews, so instead of just getting the basics, things like release date, directors, cast members, etc will now be included. I also plan on having more lists this year. They have always been a big part of the blog, but somehow in 2018, they became extremely rare (or invisible thanks to the video purge). Speaking of videos, they may make their return soon (mostly for top 10 K-pop lists). Perhaps the most obvious change right now would be the name of this monthly update post. I have always wanted to have a monthly post that allows me to talk about what I am watching/reading at the moment (even if I have no plans on reviewing said things) so this "coffee break" will allow me to do that AND give updates about the blog and what is coming soon. As this is the first, you should probably expect some format changes as I figure out how I want these to be.

So, what can you expect this month?
The first review of the year is a leftover from 2018. There will also be multiple quick movie reviews that have been backlogged for a few months. You can also expect at least one product review that has been in the works since August 2018. I have yet to decide if I am going to do my annual wrap-up, but if I do, they will be bonus posts that will go up on Saturdays.

What am I working on?
The first list of the year (not including annual wrap-up if I decide to do it) is going to sort of double as a review of the original Twilight Zone. I am planning on listing the episodes that stood out the most to me for each season and then listing my top ten favorite episodes overall. I hope to get this finished and posted sometime in late February or early March.
I am also in the planning stages of how I want to bring back the video content to the blog. I miss making the videos and I think my decision to delete all of the old videos was a bit rash (basically I regret it...).
