Lucid Dream - Movie Review

Saturday, June 10, 2017

Dae-ho, an investigative journalist, seeks to track down the whereabouts of his son who was abducted three years ago. With the help of a detective and a psychiatrist friend, he will retrace his memory of the incident through the use of lucid dreaming techniques. (IMDB)
Like the majority of Korean films I have seen, this movie was both very intense and dramatic. This is not a bad thing though, as the reactions of the characters are still believable and realistic. Lucid Dream takes elements of Paprika and Inception and merges them with the classic missing child crime drama. The actors and actresses all did an amazing job, with the exception of Park Yoochun. However, even though his performance was not very good, I could still see what he was trying to go for. The villain reveal was done wonderfully and led to a very bittersweet ending.
